Why India lost the semifinal.

THE REASONS WHY INDIA LOST THE SEMIFINAL

Cricket, in the country of India, is a matter of national debate. People are so crazy about cricket that they would rather watch a cricket match than work at the office or for younger audiences, attend classes. India was certainly a force to reckon with in this year's ICC World T20 Cup. They were the hosts of the tournament and clear favorites while the tournament was progressing. With the likes of Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin playing with their 'form of a lifetime', it was quite diifcult to beat them on paper. But the West Indies team is built for T20 cricket and they defeated India with quite a lot of ease. So what went wrong? Here are the reasons why India lost the World T20 semifinal.

1) The Toss
The toss is a crucial factor to win matches. In the the match the overall 'lucky' M S Dhoni fell to the Law of Averages and thus lost the toss. The West Indies chose to field and even though we made a solid score it wasn't enough.

2) Team Selection
According to me the selection of Ajinkya Rahane was a fabulous idea to ensure a solid opening partnership. However I don't think that selecting Manish Pandey was justified. Dhoni should have chosen Harbhajan Singh due to the fact that he knows the Wankhede pitch as much as he knows how to bowl. Also, Bhajji has always turned out to be a genuine match winner both with the ball as well as the bat. With his experience, it might have been possible to restrict the WI batsman Lendl Simmons who share the dressing room at Mumbai Indians.

3) The 2 No-balls
It was really surprising that the same batsman could have been out 2 times but each time it was a no-ball. Hardik Pandya is a player who has not played much in the domestic circuit so his no-ball may have been due to lack of skill. However according to me, the no-ball that Ashwin bowled was sheer 'Bad Luck'. I mean ask this question to yourself, " When was the last time you saw a spinner bowl a no-ball?" Before this I did not even know that a spinner could bowl a no-ball. These two balls eventually cost them the whole match.

4) Line and Length
The WI batsman as strong as they are cal easily hit a short ball as they can hit the good length one. The Indian bowlers however bowled the good length and the short ball consistently. Barring Bumrah, nobody could bowl a good quality yorker. Nehra tried to bowl yorkers but most of them turned into low fulltosses and were whacked into the stands.

5) Lack of innovation
If this was some other captain, lack of innovation would not have even appeared on this list. But you know that a guy who can ask a less known baller (Joginder Sharma) to bowl the ultimate over to write history, you start having more expectations from him. While the idea of giving Virat the ball was brilliant, he could have done better( e.g. giving Ashwin the first over so as to dismiss the WI openers who cannot play spin with soft hands).

6) Dew factor
Dew affects the bowling team majorly. A wet ball is harder to grip, thereby putting bowlers to a disadvantage. This is most notable in finger-spin bowlers who depend on gripping the ball to get the required amount of turn. Additionally, due to lack of grip, it is harder for the bowlers to maintain the desired line and length as compared to a non-dew environment. It was clearly visible as Ashwin was constantly rubbing the towel on the ball. The spinners got hit for 68 runs in the 6 overs they bowled.

7) Recreating Sachin's Magic
In the Hero Cup semi, With 6 needed off the last over, skipper Azharuddin took a gamble and handed the ball to young Sachin, who hadn't bowled a single over in the match till then. Tendulkar bowled an ice-cool over under tremendous pressure, in front of a packed Eden Gardens crowd and took India to a dramatic win. Dhoni probably wanted to recreate the same magic but Kohli just could not do it form him. This will leave a forever haunting question of what if Ashwin had bowled the last over.

In the end the West Indies won the match and while I particularly was supporting India, I loved the way Lendl Simmons and Kohli batted with the straight bat which showed the world that players with just sound batting technique could be wonderful T20  batsmen.

P.S.:- I know my blogs are deviating from the topic, I am looking forward to change the title as soon as possible and will let you know immediately. BYE!!!

500 PAGEVIEW SPECIAL: The cartoons that I loved as a child.

500 VIEWS Finally

Hey guys!! We have finallly made 500 views on our blog and I am really glad to announce it. And to celebrate it I have decided to write a special post(special = longer).

I merged my Google+ account with the blog right now and I think you guys deserve to know about me more so here are:-

FIVE SHOWS I LOVED AS A CHILD

Now many of you would probably recall this shows if you are a 90's kid so I will give no introduction to their storyline but I will tell you why I liked it.This isn't a top tens list so the shows aren't ranked. So are you ready for this nostalgic journey?!?! Well lets begin then

1) Tom And Jerry

Nobody can forget the kind of slapstick comedy they did back in the day which put a smile to your face everytime you are depressed or just irritated. I remember that once I was throwing a tantrum at my parents and then I started watching these two guys and I immediately forgot about everything else. Such is the charisma. They are just the older versions of these modern day Youtubers who make you smile no matter what(not you Smosh).

2) Dora The Explorer

Yes guys the same cartoon that has been severely criticized as the most stupid cartoons of all times. But I think differently, this was actually quite fun to watch as a child. The thing I want to highlight are the theme songs of the individual characters in the show. This show was quite repetitive with the storyline but always had something different to it. And what else this also taught me some Spanish which I know I won't be learning even a bit in my entire life.

3) Power Rangers

Power Rangers was quite a rage when I was a kid. They basically were the first 'superheroes' i knew of. The show was full of action and I personally liked the Megazord thing. The best part was that this gave me the teaching that good always wins over the evil and similar high on moral stuff. I also liked the badass villains in the series( e.g. the main villain in spd and dino thunder).

4) The Amazing Spiderman

This was one of the coolest cartoons I watched as a child and I still revisit this one. This made me realise how intricate stories can get and this further paved way to me watching anime s with cool stories. This show gave me the teaching of multitasking. I mean look at Peter Parker; one time he is swinging off buildings catching criminals and the other time he is studying Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Etmylogy and Computers. Whoa!

5) Pokemon

Every list about cartoons is incomplete without mentions about an anime. Well said. Pokemon is like my all time favorite anime. This made me a fan of anime in the first place. This led me to buy a brand new Gameboy just for playing a Pokemon game on it. People like Ash Ketchum alot but my favorite character has to be Brock, a complete flirt as he is is highly entertaining and I also like the way he shows compassion and takes care of the pokemon around him. He taught me that 'Man is a part of nature and not apart from nature'.

What cartoon shows did you like when you were young? Do reply in the Comment section. Please follow the blog if you love the post. Goodbye!!

I am BACK

HEY GUYSS!!!
I am back.... Yeah I know, its been a while, a long time actually. I was busy or rather I was lazy but now I am back and am looking forward to continue this blog from where I stopped it.
Its been 2-3 years and I still think of it as it was yesterday. A lot has changed for me and possibly for you guys too. I started this blog to just write about whatever that came to my mind during the day. After the blog's reincarnation, I am looking forward to do some similar posts. If you belong to India, then you may know that after one completes his 10th then one has to choose a specific stream and study in that stream for two years. Its called as the Junior College. The streams include:- Science, Commerce and Arts.
After my 10th was over I decided to choose the Science stream simply because it has a wide range of professions under it. I was tempted to choose Arts as I was rather good at languages and social studies but I thought that it was quite boooooooring to study languages and other stuff. The Commerce stream includes professions like bankers, accountants and all those guys who use statistics as their basis of bread and butter. This interested me the least. So I decided to choose the Science stream.
The Science stream basically consists of 4 main subjects that are Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology (PCMB for short). I chose PCM as Biology was never my cup of tea besides I just cannot stand blood and organs (pretty weak hearted for a 6-footer) I thoroughly enjoyed learning Physics and Maths. I just love solving numericals (#IndianBrains XD) But you know there is a popular joke among people who have studied in this stream. It goes like this.... After 10th, students pick Science. After that Science picks on them..... I mean sometimes things do get a bit difficult and by that I want you to know that it gets really difficult. Yet we toil hard and finally get a chance to prove our merit in the 12th final exam and entrance exams. Then we are told to pick the right course and begin our journey in the College.
Huhh... All caught up. So I hope you liked the post. Be sure to follow this blog if you are craving for more stories and lessons to learn from the happenings in my life. Bye!!!
